There is no such thing as a bad place to take a vacation. Sure, there are places with more risks or that are better suited to certain tastes, but you can get a great deal any place you go. Take Ohio, as just one example. While passing through on my last road trip, I discovered many things to do in Cincinnati and Columbus. In today’s entry, we explore the attractions and accommodations available in those two cities.
In the Columbus Polaris District: The Hilton
Near the Polaris District, you’ll find dozens of things to do. Check out the Magic Mountain Fun Center, which features go-karts, laser tag, golf, and more. Explore the Polaris Towne Centre for a day of non-stop shopping. If you’re strange like me, visit my personal favorite, the nearby Jungle Jim’s mega-store, an international grocery market with over 200,000 square feet of store space.
While visiting this district of Columbus, consider the Hilton Columbus/Polaris. This three-star hotel includes a pool, fitness center, and two on-site restaurants. Additionally, you’ll receive complimentary WiFi throughout the building and free parking.
In Downtown Columbus: The Hyatt Regency
Not surprisingly, the downtown district of Columbus has some high-class attractions. For example, you could visit the Columbus Museum of Art for an impressive display of traditional and contemporary artwork. Afterward, why not check out a show at the Ohio Theatre or the Palace Theatre? Then grab a bite to eat at one of the many nearby restaurants.
While you’re here, you may want to book a room at the Hyatt Regency Columbus. This hotel offers a full range of spa services, a 24-hour business center, and three on-site restaurants. Additionally, the modern stylings make this hotel a memorable, beautiful place to stay.
In the Cincinnati Business District: The Millenium
Cincinnati’s business district is overflowing with stunning architecture, beautiful public art, limitless shopping opportunities, and top-notch restaurants. It’s the traditional downtown adventure, done with panache and a dash of Cincinnati’s unique style.
One of the best places to stay in this district is the Millennium Cincinnati Hotel. Despite its three-star rating, this pet-friendly hotel is one of the more affordable options. Available amenities include breakfast, internet, a fitness center, and nightly turn-down service.
In the Cincinnati Historic District: Cincinnatian Hotel
Historic districts always have a unique appeal due to the diversity of the sights and experiences available. Cincinnati’s historic district goes further, though, thanks to a number of nationally recognized museums. This includes the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, the Taft Museum of Art, and the Contemporary Arts Center.
In the heart of this district, you find the Cincinnatian Hotel. There are various levels of luxury available here, ranging from basic rooms to over-sized suites, each of which has a whirlpool tub and en-suite atrium area. All guests get free WiFi, access to the fitness center, and a chance to use the on-site daycare services.
