From beautiful scenery to bustling metropolitan experiences to niche getaways, Pennsylvania has it all. In today’s article, we’ll explore four of the state’s best destinations and some of the top hotels in each.
Pittsburgh: The Renaissance or the Fairmont
Pittsburgh is home to attractions like the Andy Warhol Museum, which is the largest American art museum dedicated to a single artist, as well as the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, a historic museum established by Andrew Carnegie himself. It’s also home to the National Aviary, which is the biggest aviary in the country.
While you’re in Pittsburgh, consider a stay at the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel. This historic hotel is in the Fulton Building, which was built on the riverfront in 1906. Today, you’ll find an on-site gym, pet-friendly rooms, and one of the best-rated restaurants in the city, Braddock’s American Brasserie.
You could also opt for the Fairmont Pittsburgh. This 4.5-star hotel is right next to some of the best attractions in the downtown area. Beyond that, the hotel includes top-tier amenities like an expansive workout room, a sauna, and a full range of spa services. There are also two on-site restaurants to choose from, The Habitat and Andy’s.
Bensalem: Inn of the Dove
In Bensalem, you can explore the Saint Katharine Drexel Mission Center and Shrine, a historic convent, or go to the opposite end of the spectrum and visit Parx Casino, the largest horse racing and gambling complex in the state. This area is also famous for Neshaminy State Park, a 330-acre park with countless beautiful trails.
While in Bensalem, consider booking a room at the Inn of the Dove. You’ll receive free Wi-Fi, access to a concierge service, complimentary drinks and snacks, and much more. There’s even a room that includes a private, heated pool. Best of all, a stay here start at just $139 a night, which is a real steal for this region.
Philadelphia: The DoubleTree
Philadelphia is home to iconic attractions like the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. You’ll also find lesser-known attractions throughout the city, including the Please Touch Museum for children and the eclectic Reading Terminal Market.
One of the best places to stay in the city is the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Philadelphia – Valley Forge. This luxury hotel is walking distance from the King of Prussia Mall, which includes over 400 stores. It’s also just minutes away from Valley Forge National Historical Park.
Mount Pocono: The Mount Airy Resort
Mount Pocono is a gorgeous location with plentiful hikes and historic sites. In this instance, however, the hotel is the real destination. At Mount Airy Casino and Resort there’s far more to do than just gambling. You could get any spa service you can think of, catch a show at the casino theatre, or even step outside to the 18-hole golf course. In any case, you’ll be able to wind down with a meal at one of the three hotel restaurants before settling into your spacious room.
