I spent a good amount of time discussing the origins and awesomeness of BCF, so I’ll skip past that this time around. I’ll simply say that BCF is a contest where you’re provided with an image prompt and write a piece of flash fiction in response. The twist? You have to fit that flash fiction on the back of a business card. Here’s my entry for January’s first prompt.
I decided I’d use the “twist” concept I’ve often seen in flash fiction but don’t often use. And sci-fi, which I don’t often use. Because I felt like I should … you know … use them.
Oh, and hey! If you’re popping into my website for the first time, it’s great to have you here. If you’d like writer-oriented goodies like advice articles, writerly humor, and contests, subscribe to my weekly newsletter (details in the P.S.).
Write on,
